Commonwealth Broadband Pacific Forum 2017

Date: 25 – 27 July 2017
Location: Apia, Samoa

Venue: Tui Atua Tupua Tamasese Efi (“TATTE”) Convention Center

Following its series of successful events on Connecting Rural Communities, the CTO launched a new conference series on broadband in 2014 in view of the key role that broadband plays in development. The Commonwealth Broadband Forum 2014 was hosted by Kenya, the 2015 forum by Nigeria and the 2016 forum took place in Malaysia. In order to allow wider stakeholder participation, we also organise regional conferences of which the first was the Caribbean Broadband Forum held in Trinidad and Tobago in 2016. Following the success of these Forums the Secretariat is holding a regional Commonwealth Pacific Forum on Broadband.

The Commonwealth Broadband Pacific Forum 2017 will acknowledge the crucial role of the network as the platform to help transform community life. It will review how communities are connected, administered and managed to achieve social, economic and environmental sustainability. This year’s event will examine areas including the development of national broadband strategies and relevant technologies, while also focusing on applications and data.
This will be a two-day conference featuring an exhibition with presentations and interactive panel discussions during the conference.
