Internships
The CTO internship programme provides students and recent graduates with the opportunity to gain valuable work experience and strengthen knowledge and skills in a way that complements their studies. It is specifically designed to suit those who wish to gain experience of working for an international organisation, with a particular interest in ICTs and development.
We offer internships across all of our programme areas, and interns are able to become fully involved in the delivery of programme objectives. Details of internship opportunities, along with the relevant application process, are advertised on our website as and when they arise. We also welcome enquiries from interested qualified people who would like to explore the potential of an internship with the CTO.
In order to apply for an internship, applicants must have the right to reside in the UK for the full duration of the internship. They must usually also be enrolled in a university or equivalent tertiary institution, or have graduated in the previous 12 months. Preference is given to applicants from Commonwealth countries, but in exceptional circumstances we do offer internship to people from other countries.
While acknowledging that internships are primarily designed to provide opportunities for young people to gain valuable skills for future employment, the CTO believes that interns should be recompensed for the contribution that they make to the organisation. Payments to interns therefore vary according to their experience and the specific work that they will be undertaking with us. Internships are generally available for periods of between 3 and 12 months.
