Commonwealth ICT Applications Forum 2017

The Commonwealth ICT Applications Forum 2017 took place in Kigali, Rwanda on 15th to 16th February 2017 under the theme Promoting ICT Entrepreneurship. This forum was hosted by the Government of Rwanda and was organised to promote ICT applications, primarily those in developing countries, with a view to leveraging their potential contribution to socio-economic development.

There were many inspiring stories in ICT entrepreneurship which were not heard widely enough. Through this event CTO aimed to showcase these novel applications and assist the entrepreneurs to find support and new markets. In fact this was the aim of our Commonwealth Youth ICT awards scheme which started in 2016. We were delighted to offer opportunities for local App developers to showcase their unique products. Moreover, the event provided guidance to develop national App economies as well as to expand the locally developed Apps globally.
